［速報］GitHubアカウントでAzureにサインイン可能に。GitHubとAzure Active Directoryとの同期サポートで企業ユーザーの管理が容易に。Microsoft Build 2019

マイクロソフトは、GitHubアカウントでMicrosoft Azureへサインインが可能になったことを発表しました。

これまでMicrosoft Azureを利用するにはMicrosoftアカウントなどでサインインする必要がありました。GitHubアカウントでAzureにサインインできるようになったことで、GitHubアカウントを持つ開発者にとってAzureが利用しやすくなると説明されています。

また、Visual StudioとGitHub Enterpriseをまとめてサブスクリプションで提供する「Visual Studio Subscriptions with GitHub Enterprise」も発表されました。

GitHubのチームがAzure Active Directoryとの同期をサポートしたことも発表されました。

これによりユーザー管理の手間が省け、またセキュリティなども強化されます。「Team synchronization across GitHub and Azure Active Directory」から引用します。

This release syncs Azure AD with the teams you’ve set up on GitHub, so you can assign a set of access permissions to all the members of a group, instead of providing rights one by one. You’ll be able to assign one or more Azure AD groups to a team within GitHub and automatically keep membership synchronized in one, up-to-date place. In addition to speeding up administration, having just one place to manage users helps strengthen security and audit compliance.

このリリースではAzure ADとGitHub上で設定したチームとが同期するため、一人一人権限を設定する代わりに、グループのメンバー全員のアクセス権をまとめて設定できます。GitHubのチームには1つかそれ以上のAzure ADグループを割り当てることができ、メンバー情報は自動的に最新のものに更新されていきます。管理が迅速にできることに加えて、1カ所でユーザー管理ができることによりセキュリティと法令遵守が強化されます。
